Josie Maszk Adkins

b. 1986, HK.

The aim of my work is to create design that matters to people. Design confronts people where they are: walking down the street, reading a magazine, scrolling through their phone, but truly effective design creates a lasting impression.  It makes people think twice. In this world saturated with advertising, my hope is to create work that is beautifully conspicuous and cannot be ignored.

I am most inspired by designers who have changed life for those who are often overlooked or marginalized. The idea that beautiful photography can expose injustice, and great architecture can make life better for everyday people moves me deeply and fills me with a desire, to perhaps, do the same. I am inspired to dig further into my craft, expand my abilities, and invest in my art. Because people with good ideas, passion and drive can improve the world, and there is a lot to be done.
